What is Rec Cheer?
Recreational Cheerleading is a vibrant discipline within the cheerleading realm where athletes cheer in support of other recreational sports, primarily football. Our youth/rec cheer teams not only rally behind our Aurora Spartan Football teams but also have the opportunity, on our Show team, to showcase their talents in thrilling competitions. These performances entail a captivating 2 1/2-minute routine packed with tumbling, stunts, pyramids, dance, and spirited cheer segments.

Sideline Only Cheer:
For students ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade, our Sideline Cheer program welcomes individuals of all skill levels and abilities. Participants in this program have the opportunity to cheer for our beloved Aurora Spartan Football teams.
The season kicks off with cheer camp in July, setting the stage for an exhilarating journey that culminates with the highly anticipated AYL Superbowl in November.

Show Team:
Step into the spotlight and elevate your cheerleading journey with Aurora Spartan Show Team! Our Show Team program represents the pinnacle of our offerings, blending the essence of recreational cheer with the excitement of competitive spirit. It's the perfect fusion of tradition and innovation, mirroring the dynamics of a traditional high school cheer program.
Dual-Season Program, One great Price:
Show Team isn't just a program; it's an adventure spanning two seasons. Members who sign up for Show Team participate in Sideline Cheer, laying the foundation for teamwork, skill development, and school spirit AND dive into the world of competitive cheer, honing their talents and showcasing their hard-work on the competition mat.
Community Engagements:
Show Team squads will have the opportunity to spread cheer and goodwill throughout the community at available performance opportunities providing a chance to shine beyond the sidelines.
Season Timeline:
Prospect Camp will be in April, practice kicks off in May, and ends in early February . With dedicated coaches, comprehensive training, and a supportive team environment, you'll be well-prepared to tackle every routine, challenge, and triumph along the way.
