INTERESTED IN COACHING???
The Spartans now require EVERY COACH to go thru a pre-certification process in order to coach a team. Both new and returning coaches must attend at least 6 hours of coaches clinics and pass a CBI background check before coaching a team. For information regarding upcoming clinics please visit the Coaches Corner link at the top.
!!! NFC TRYOUTS (update...) !!!
The Spartans are restructuring our NFC Divisions and are looking for those kids looking to participate and compete at a higher level. Coaches for these teams will be assigned by June so if you are interested in having your child play on one of these NFC teams, please email the Football Director immediately for the name of the coach in your respective division.
MAXIMUM AGE DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED!!
Starting in 2008, the AYL has changed their maximum age date from July 31st to July 1st. This means some kids who have been playing a grade up due to their birthday falling in the middle of July will get to play with their own age/grade. For questions, please contact the Football Director.
ARE YOU INTERESTED IN OFFICIATING YOUTH FOOTBALL?
The AYL is in great need of GOOD football officials for the 2008 season.

Registration Information
MEDICAL INFO:
It is highly recommended that every player undergo and pass a physical exam before participating in tackle Football. Parents make sure your child has passed a routine physical exam before signing them up.
DIVISIONS:
The Spartans, in conjunction with the Arapahoe Youth League, offer three different divisions in which kids can compete depending on your child's skill level and football experience. If you have any concerns regarding where your child should play please contact the Football Director.
CFC DIVISION:
This division is considered our recreational/beginners division and is recommended for players and coaches who have very little tackle football experience. This division is a good building tool for kids to learn the fundamentals of the game.
AFC DIVISION:
The AFC divison is considered our intermediate division. Players, teams and coaches with some tackle football experience sign up for this division.
NFC DIVISION:
The NFC is considered our competitive division where the more committed and competitive players play. The Spartans are looking for more players to help strengthen all of our NFC rosters.
The Spartans, along with the AYL will not allow kids under the age of 6 to play organized tackle football. We recommend 4 and 5 yr. olds start out by playing flag football. For information about a local flag football league in SE Aurora, Centennial, and the surrounding area please contact the Football Director. Any kid who turns 6 before the first week of the regular season will be considered for possible placement.

All Single Patch players must be on the line of scrimmage and can only advance the ball on a forward pass. A player is patched and must wear a patch on the upper part of the shoulder at all times.
All Double Patch players must be on the line of scrimmage at all times and cannot advance the ball on any set play. A double-patched player must wear two patches on the upper part of each shoulder at all times.
Play Down Weight: This weight is the maximum weight a child can weigh in order to play down one age division. For instance a 10 year old that weighs 68 pounds can play down with the 9 year old age group because of his "limited" size. Parents must request to have their child play down.
QUOTE OF THE DAY: "It's not the size of the child in the fight but the size of the fight in the child!"
