Welcome to the 2007 - 2008 Spartan Basketball Season!
 The Spartans offer basketball for boys and girls from Kindergarten though 5th grade - unlike other Spartan sports, basketball teams are put together based on grade, not age. Players may submit individual applications, or coaches may submit their own team rosters of up to 10 players. Registration typically occurs in September and October, with practices starting in November. The season consists of 8 games played in December through February (with a break for Christmas), and a tournament at the end of the season. Practices vary based on the number of teams and gym availability. Teams typically practice one to two nights a week in local school gyms. Games are played on Fridays and Saturdays in schools throughout the Arapahoe Youth League (AYL) boundaries.
Kindergarten and 1st grade are not part of the AYL. This is a special program that the Spartans have started. Basketball registration fee for KG/1 is $110.00. Registration fee will include a t-shirt for the kids to wear at the scrimmages. Registrations will be accepted until October 20th.
2nd grade through 5th grade: Registration fee will be $135.00 per child. Second through fifth grade teams play in the AYL and are entered into one of two divisions based on the level of player skills:
- 1 League: For more experienced players who wish to play in a less-competitive arena
- 0 League: Competitive basketball
Parents and players may specify on their applications the level of play desired, however, ALL players and coaches interested in "0" league must attend try outs which are typically held in November. This is to ensure that the teams are competitive in the league so that players do not become discouraged and have a good experience.
UNIFORMS-Uniforms are available at the Spartan Store. Purple shorts are optional at the discretion of the coach.
